President Viktor Yushchenko invited Austrian Federal President Heinz Fischer to partake in the International Forum dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine to be held November 22 in Kyiv. This was disclosed by the Ukrainian President at a joint news conference with his Austrian counterpart in Vienne.
Viktor Yushchenko thanked Fischer for definite and clear position regarding Holodomor. "It is clear and understandable. And I'm convinced that the Austrian party will find a way to adopt the position in the form that is more adequate to estimate the tragedy," he said.
At the same time, President Yushchenko reiterated that Ukraine does not blame Russia for the tragedy. "I'd like to stress once again so that there are no speculations - the Ukrainian party blames neither Russian people nor the contemporary Russian state for the tragedy 1932-1933," the President underscored.
According to Yushchenko, Ukraine accuses Stalin's communist regime. "Fortunately, the regime does no longer exist, but there are people who must make moral-ethic conclusions, to estimate," he said adding that the international community must remember of such tragedies to prevent them from being reoccurred in future.
