The Cabinet of Ministers has forecast deflation of 0.5% in the third quarter of 2008, taking into account deflation of 0.4% in July, deflation of 0.3% in August and inflation of 0.2% in September.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko made the forecast on Saturday, July 12.
The Ukrainian government counts on an inflation rate of 0.9% in the fourth quarter of 2008 given inflation of 0.4% in October, 0.2% in November and 0.3% in December. Taking into these figures, Ukraine should see an annual inflation rate of 15.96%.
Inflation was 0.8% in June and 15.5% in January-June 2008.
The Cabinet of Ministers, during its meeting on June 27, worsened inflation forecast from 9.6% to 15.3%, while during its meeting on July 5, to 15.9%.
