With good mutual relations that have been lately developed between NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and JSC Gazprom, the Ukrainian company showed perfect results of gas pumping into underground gas storage facilities, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said following her meeting with JSC Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.

"We appreciate you and JSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, as your work has resulted in pumping of gas owned exactly by the NJSC into underground gas storage facilities. And today, for the first time over the past years Ukraine has 8 billion cu. m. of gas," Tymoshenko stressed.

The Premier highly praised interaction over the last half year between NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and JSC Gazprom. "We have actually switched to direct work, all acts are signed," she said.

Tymoshenko is satisfied that JSC Gazprom undertakes all necessary steps so that Ukraine not pile up a debt for gas consumed and strictly follows a schedule approved.

For his part, JSC Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said the Russian company appreciates an interaction level that has been recently built with NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. "Absolutely all the issues are being constantly monitored. We praise the dialogue we have," he underscored.

A work in gas area between Ukraine and Russia has been developing very constructively over the last half year. "The issues are not simple, but we have an absolutely free, let's say a friendly dialogue. In all the issues we seek to reach a compromise and understanding," Miller emphasized.

According to him, the issues on payment of Ukraine's debts to Russia and return of physical volumes of gas delivered by Russia in Q1 are on the stage of solution.

Alexei Miller also said the Russian party is satisfied with transmission of Russian gas to Europe. "We are satisfied with Ukraine completely fulfills commitments as a transit partner. We are convinced that this will go on," Miller stressed.
